Oh the places you'll go...

This is the tale of a girl who ventured to far lands (Morocco) in search of culture, change, beautiful landscapes, and interesting people. She left knowing nearly nothing of what her next six months abroad would be like, with only a suitcase and a backpack and a little arabic in her head. A feeling of fear and excitement hovered in the pit of her belly. She kissed her loved ones goodbye and flew off into the morning sky to her adventure. The rest will be told here, keep an eye ;)

The beginning

So I'm starting a blog.  I wouldn't say I'm necessarily a writer nor have I ever kept up a journal for more than a few months at a time.  So this blog is a journey, a quest, a challenge if you will.  I have just seen the movie Julie and Julia in which the charming Amy Adams stars a blog  to add meaning to her hum-drum daily life (also to share her cooking experiment and love of Julia Child).  I'm not committing to something crazy like that simply I am challenging myself to spew a daily or weekly thought onto this site, a story, a quote, a song, a bowel movement, anything that created a train of thought I enjoyed and someone else might too!  Furthermore I have started reading Jason Mraz's wonderful blog again, freshnessfactorfivethousand.bogspot.com just in time for his ingenious and totally inspiring 2010 to do list, because who needs a resolution anyway?  His beautiful words and joy for life erupting from my computer screen makes me smile and that in itself is enough to make me want to do the same for someone else.

In general I have been finding out about all this cool stuff going on that of course has an equally cool website to go with it, like freewheelinfarm.com and ilyb.org, and I suddenly have this overwhelming need to be a part of this new frontier of creative thought.  I want to be cool too!  is basically what it comes down to. So here's to hoping someone thinks I'm cool or even better that someone feels the need to release their own creative sprit.

And that universe is the beginning.
